Animal doc now works in bronze

Dr. Earle Davis is retired frorm his Clarkston Veterinary Clinic, but stays busy creating works of art.

Dr. Rom Szymanowski, his ear, nose, and throat doctor in Clarkston, is a fan.

“He’s quite talented,” said Szymanowski, who has known the artist since 1982 and been a fan of his art for about six years. “I think it’s outstanding, with feeling, flowing movement, circular energy expressed in all his work.”

Davis has been sculpting in bronze and stone for about 20 years.

“It’s a creative thing to do – it feels good to see your work evolve,” he said.

He took it up after he retired. He takes his work to about four shows a year in various galleries.

“I enjoy it – the creativity, trying to make the forms flow into each other,” he said.
