Boys lacrosse team is ready for new challenges

March 26, 2014

After winning the OAA White Division the last three years, Lake Orion’s boys’ lacrosse team is moving into the top OAA Red Division this season.

For Coach Brad Thomas’ team that means the group will face some greater challenges but he is convinced they will be ready.

“We have great senior leadership and they are real character guys,” Thomas said. “This will be a great challenge for us. It is by far the toughest schedule Lake Orion has ever had. But, we will be ready. “

Senior attacker Kyle Pillivant and midfielder Tanner Seibold will be among the leading scorers and leaders.

Other seniors who will be counted on include; midfielders Kyle Marino, Jordan Stross and David Finneran. They are part of the team’s strength at midfield, Thomas said.

Joey Friedman will help lead the defense in front of goalkeepers Zach Daining and Jack Angus.

“Both are very good and are working hard. Each will get a lot of playing time,” Thomas said.

Other senior leaders include: Kirk Luca, Hunter Reid, Dimitri Grannis, Dominick Giovinazzo, Adam Korth, Justin Pavilscak and Paul Smythe.
