Daughter lives on in mother's memory

For Shirley Hockey of Clarkston, her children Parry and Monica Hockey will always remain in her heart.

Every season, birthday, and other milestones, she decorates their graves with flowers and momentos.

“When I visit the cemetery , I feel their spirits,” she said.

On Sept. 4, 1979, Monica was brutally murdered at 20 years old. Her body was discovered by a fellow Clarkston resident, a quiet man, known for keeping to himself, while he was out bicycling as he did everyday....
